Our Model

The Challenge We’re Solving

Even in Massachusetts—the #1 state for public education—student opportunity is still shaped by ZIP code.  Under-resourced districts struggle to offer specialized or advanced courses.
Well-resourced districts may lack culturally relevant content or work-based exposure.
Small or alternative schools—often have too few staff to offer the breadth of courses students need.

This creates an inequitable divide in access to:

  • Advanced academics
  • Career-connected learning
  • Diverse, exceptional educators
  • Real workplace exposure

CWW exists to eliminate this divide.

Our Solution: A Statewide Virtual Learning Ecosystem

When schools share their strongest teachers and courses through live virtual instruction, students gain immediate access to:

  • High-quality, rigorous, credit-bearing coursework
  • Culturally relevant, project-based instruction
  • Career modules co-designed with industry partners
  • Virtual industry panels, job shadowing, and mentorship
  • Learning experiences delivered during the school day, inside existing schedules

This shared ecosystem transforms how opportunity is distributed—not by geography, enrollment, funding, or staffing capacity but by design.

How It Works

Live, Virtual, Credit-Bearing Courses

Our model places student choice at the core of the model. Students—particularly those in small, rural, or alternative schools—gain access to advanced, specialized, and career-connected courses that their home schools could not offer alone.

Students join synchronous, high-quality classes led by All-Star Teachers across Massachusetts, receiving full credit at their home school.

  • Partner schools identify strong, in-demand courses and educators prepared to teach across districts.
  • Campus Without Walls coordinates enrollment, scheduling, technology, and instructional support.
  • Students select courses aligned with their interests, academic goals, and career aspirations.
  • Courses are taught live via Zoom to students from multiple schools simultaneously.
  • Educators continue to participate in professional learning communities and receive ongoing support.

CWW’s Role: The Connective Tissue

We provide the statewide infrastructure that makes course sharing possible:

  • Live virtual course platform
  • Scheduling & enrollment coordination
  • Professional learning for educators
  • Cross-district collaboration
  • Technology support
  • Research, evaluation & continuous improvement (AIR partnership)

CWW allows schools to expand opportunity without expanding staff.

Career-Connected Learning During School Hours

The Campus Without Walls model intentionally integrates career-connected learning directly into the academic experience, ensuring students gain meaningful exposure to careers while earning course credit during the school day. Rather than treating career exploration as a separate or extracurricular activity, CWW embeds it within live, virtual coursework—making it accessible to all students.

Industry and higher education partners engage directly with students through:

  • Virtual career panels that introduce students to diverse professions and career pathways
  • Guest instruction and real-world applications that connect academic content to workplace practice
  • Mentorship and job-shadowing experiences that help students envision themselves in future careers

Because all engagement is virtual, partners can participate frequently and equitably across schools, regardless of location. This model allows career exposure to be woven into credit-bearing courses rather than added on after school or limited by transportation, staffing, or geography.

Currently, students gain real exposure to high-growth sectors such as:

  • Financial Services
  • Health & Life Sciences
  • Clean Energy & Biotech
  • Business & Entrepreneurship

No transportation. No barriers. Just access.
